Who we are
This website is operated by WOTA ENTERPRISE (PTY) LTD (registration number 2024/237685/07), trading as Peak Hydration, a South African company ("we", "us"). We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy, which explains how we handle it under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect, and why
When you get in touch
The contact and stockist forms on this site do not send your details to us or store them on a server. When you press send, the form opens WhatsApp with your message filled in, and nothing reaches us until you choose to send it. If you do, or if you email us or message us on Instagram or Facebook, we receive what you share, such as your name, business name, email address, phone number, area and message.
We use this only to reply to you, to discuss stocking Peak Hydration, to arrange samples or deliveries, and to keep a record of our conversation. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to keep you updated.
When you use the store locator
If you tap "Use my location", your browser asks your permission first. Your location is used on your device only, to show the stockists nearest to you, and it is not sent to us or stored.
When you buy from us
When online ordering is available, we will collect what we need to process and deliver your order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, what you ordered and your order history. Payments are processed by a secure third-party payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details.
We use this to process, deliver and support your order, to send you order and delivery updates, to handle returns and queries, to prevent fraud, and to keep the records the law requires.
When you sign up for our emails
We will only send you marketing emails or messages, such as news, new products and offers, if you have opted in, or if you are an existing customer and the message is about products similar to those you bought from us. Every marketing message includes a simple way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time by emailing [email protected]. We never sell or share your details with other companies for their own marketing.
When you browse the site
Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and protect it from abuse.
Cookies
We currently do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell people and automated traffic apart, and when online ordering is available, strictly necessary cookies will keep items in your basket and keep you signed in. If we use website analytics, we use a privacy-friendly service that reports visits in aggregate. If we ever introduce analytics or advertising cookies that identify you, we will ask for your consent first, and you can change your choice at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information. Some services we rely on process information on our behalf or receive it when your browser loads parts of the page:
- Cloudflare, which hosts and secures this website.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you message us through WhatsApp, under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.
- Microsoft, which provides our email.
- Google Fonts, which serves the fonts on this site and receives your IP address when the page loads.
- OpenStreetMap, which provides the map tiles in the store locator and receives your IP address when the map loads.
- cdnjs and jsDelivr, which deliver some of the code that runs this site.
- Online shop, payment and delivery providers, when online ordering is available, to take payment and deliver your order.
- An email marketing provider, to send emails to people who have signed up.
Some of these providers process information outside South Africa. Where that happens, we rely on providers that are subject to data protection laws or agreements offering protection comparable to POPIA.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
How long we keep it
We keep your messages and contact details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry or our business relationship. Order and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require, generally five years. If you unsubscribe from marketing, we keep a minimal record of that so we do not contact you again. After that we delete or anonymise personal information.
How we protect it
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. The site is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to our messages and email is limited to the people who need it.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us whether we hold personal information about you, and ask for a copy of it. You may also ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, opt out of marketing, or withdraw any consent you have given. Email [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa. Its contact details are on inforegulator.org.za.
Children
This website is not aimed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it took effect at the top.
